Associate Professor Arthur Middleton attended the Western Governors Association meeting 11/6-11/8 and was also a panellist for the session "Connecting the West: Wildlife Migration Corridors" moderated by Wyoming Governor Gordon and New Mexico Governor Lujan Grisham

Below is the description of the panel (The full agenda can be found here.)

Migration corridors are an essential part of the lifecycle of many fish and game.  Recognizing and conserving these corridors is central to promoting healthy populations of these species.  Since wildlife corridors can cover hundreds and even thousands of miles, responsible migration corridor management requires the participation of all levels of government and types of landowners.  This panel will examine the programs, funding, and tools available to fish and wildlife agencies and other stakeholders to integrate corridor management with other land uses. Panelists: Renee Callaghan, Executive Director, ARC Solutions; Jeff McCreary, Western Region Director, Ducks Unlimited; Arthur Middleton, Senior Advisor for Wildlife Conservation, U.S. Department of Agriculture; Brian Nesvik, Director, Wyoming Game and Fish Department.
